Susan K. Brown taught secondary language arts in rural Georgia for 32 years. When she retired seven years ago, she began working with the Master of Arts in Teaching program at Georgia Southern University. She currently supervises middle and secondary teacher candidates in the M.A.T. program and teaches English language arts methods to undergraduates and M.A.T. candidates. She loves any kind of literature, both fiction and nonfiction, and she is a fervent advocate for using children’s books and young adult literature across the curriculum at all grade levels.
