Amy Ettinger is the author of "Sweet Spot: An Ice Cream Binge Across America," which The Wall Street Journal hailed as “a surprisingly serious, impressively thorough treatment of ice cream’s cultural significance, fabrication, economics and history, not to mention its effect on human brain chemistry.” Shelf Awareness described the book as richly entertaining, while Library Journal hailed it as a "breezy part memoir, part frozen-treat homage."

Ettinger’s work has been published in The New York Times, The Washington Post, New York magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Huffington Post, and many other publications. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She lives in Santa Cruz with her husband and daughter.
