I have been self-publishing childrens books for almost two years. After finding a very talented young illustrator, I saw my storeis finally come to life!
I have 8 stories available on KDP/Amazon, all of which have different themes and/or messages for the young reader. I have a series of 3 spider books: "Good-bye, Spidee Idee," which deals with losing someone special to you; "Spider Max, My Hero," which deals with anti-bullying; and "Spider Stan, the Music Man," which also deals with anti-bullying. "A Lovely Lizard Love Story" deals with helping someone in need, and the sequel, "A Visit From Lizzie," shows how one good turn leads to another. "A Big Adventure for Smokee the Cat," deals with Smokee furtively leaving the comforts of his house only to find there can be unexpected dangers on the outside, and how good it feels to help another whose is facing a dangerous situation. "Another Big Adventure for Smokee the Cat,, shows again that escaping the comforts of home can lead to unexpected predicaments, and that helping another has rewarding lessons. "The Creakits," deals with the unexpected and unexplained night noises that might scare us, but are actually harmless.
All of my books have interesting and educational facts about the main charters. There are also some activities at the end of each to engage the reader into reflection and retention of the story.
I have several more stories just waiting for my illustrator, who is a full time student at the U of A, to have enough time to draw life into them!
