Ellen Oh is the author of the new young adult novel "The Colliding Worlds of Mina Lee" and an award-winning author of middle grade novels "Haru Zombie Dog Hero," "Finding Junie Kim," "Dragon Egg Princess," The Spirit Hunters trilogy and The Prophecy Series: "Prophecy," "Warrior" and "King." She is the editor and contributor of "You Are Here: Connecting Flights," a collection of interwoven stories, editor of the middle grade anthology "Flying Lessons and Other Stories" and the young adult anthology "A Thousand Beginnings and Endings." She is a founding member of We Need Diverse Books, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing diversity in children's literature. Oh lives in Rockville, Md., with her husband, three human children and two dog children.

Trust the System/Lose Your Life
Sometimes trusting the system leads to greater danger and corruption. These YA thrillers involve suspense and mysteries that endanger the lives of teens. "A Whisper of Poison" by Jess Lourey is a dystopia of a teen who learns not to trust those in power. Samuel Miller's "Dark Parts of the Universe" involves an app-based adventure game and murder, while Ellen Oh's main character gets sucked her own web comic in "The Colliding Worlds of Mina Lee."

We Need Diverse Books: Resources for Race, Equity, and Inclusivity
Ellen Oh, an author of youth literature, is also the CEO of We Need Diverse Books, an organization and movement with the mission of putting more books featuring diverse characters into the hands of all readers. Ellen will share the many resources that can be accessed on their website, particularly around race, equity, and inclusivity in youth literature.
