Stephen J. Pyne



Arizona State University

Stephen J. Pyne is an emeritus professor at Arizona State University. He is the author of more than 30 books, including "Style and Story," "The Ice," "How the Canyon Became Grand" and "Voyager: Exploration, Space, and the Third Great Age of Discovery." He is also the author of a 10-volume survey of the American fire scene: "Between Two Fires: A Fire History of Contemporary America" and To the Last Smoke, a suite of regionally focused books about wildfire, all published by the University of Arizona Press. The latest and final volumes: "The Northeast: A Fire Survey; Slopovers: A Fire Survey of the Mid-American Oak Woodland, Pacific Northwest, and Alaska" and "Here and There: A Fire Survey."
