Stephen J. Pyne

Stephen J. Pyne is a Regents’ Professor in the Human Dimensions Faculty of the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University. He is the author of more than 30 books, including Style and Story, The Ice, How the Canyon Became Grand, and Voyager: Exploration, Space, and the Third Great Age of Discovery. He is also the author of a 10-volume survey of the American fire scene: Between Two Fires: A Fire History of Contemporary America and To the Last Smoke, a suite of regionally focused books about wildfire, all published by the University of Arizona Press. The latest and final volumes: The Northeast: A Fire Survey; Slopovers: A Fire Survey of the Mid-American Oak Woodland, Pacific Northwest, and Alaska; and Here and There: A Fire Survey.
