Food Vendor Application

We invite you to be a Food Vendor at the 2014 Tucson Festival of Books on Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th from 9:00am to 5:30pm. Food Vendors are an important aspect of the Festival of Books. The 2013 Festival had more than 120,000 hungry patrons along the University of Arizona Mall.

Please read the Food Vending Handbook and Food Vending Terms & Conditions prior to submitting an application.

Applications are due no later than November 1, 2013. Applications received after this date will be placed on a waiting list and only reviewed if a space becomes available.

Important details:

  • Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Booths must be set-up and ready to serve by 10am on Saturday and Sunday and must remain open and serving until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Vendors are not permitted to close early and doing so will affect future acceptance into the Festival.
  • All Food and Snack Vendors that will have an open flame cooking device, open flames, or flammable and combustible liquids are required to have a minimum 2A:10BC rated fire extinguisher. If a deep fat fryer is used, a Class K extinguisher is required. Non-cooking tents are required to have a minimum 2A rated fire extinguisher. All extinguishers need to be visible, easily accessible and have current service tags.
  • All Vendors using propane tanks must bring the proper equipment to secure the tanks. You will not be permitted to secure the tanks to the tent, trees or fencing.
  • No water will be provided.
  • No grease or gray water disposal will be provided. Vendors must supply their own containers for removal per Pima County Health regulations.
  • Vendors are required to clean their entire area at time of load-out. Failure to do so will affect your privilege to participate in future festivals.
  • The Festival has an exclusive contract with a beverage sponsor. No competing beverages may be sold with the exception of lemonade and coffee by Festival approved lemonade and coffee vendors.
  • All Food and Snack Vendors must have a Temporary Food Vending Permit issued by the Pima County Health Department visibly displayed inside their booth.
  • All Food and Snack Vendors must provide a Certificate of Insurance for the University of Arizona and Tucson Festival of Books. (Refer to handbook)
