Press Release / February 18, 2017
Metropia, a Tucson-developed traffic solution app, is once again partnering with UA Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) and Pima Association of Governments (PAG) to provide Festival of Books goers a tool that will help them navigate and park at during the March 11-12 event on the UA campus.
Before starting the trip to UA campus, drivers can open the free Metropia app to view live parking availability at the Tucson Festival of Books. After choosing between free, paid and disabled parking lot options, Metropia users can select a specific available parking lot as their destination and receive turn-by-turn navigation directly to their lot and around any on-campus road closures. The Metropia app is available for download here http://hyperurl.co/m2tzce
Metropia is also providing an extra incentive to carpool to the Festival with a fellow bookworm. By using the app’s DUO social carpooling feature to share a ride with a friend or family member, both the driver and passengers earn additional reward points which can be redeemed for gift cards to local merchants such as Bookmans Entertainment Exchange, R Bar Energy, Ear Effects and more.
The Tucson Festival of Books applications are part of a continuing partnership between Metropia and UA Parking and Transportation Services. Other initiatives have provided detailed parking lot availability and fees, traffic control plans and traffic condition information at sporting and community events, including last year’s Tucson Festival of Books.
