Author Spotlight: Sam Kleiner

Festival Staff / January 1, 2019

Last week's author spotlight hint: When are you going to figure out who next week's author is??? When tigers fly!

This week's author spotlight is on Sam Kleiner, who was raised right here in Tucson! He is the author of "The Flying Tigers: The Untold Story of the American Pilots Who Waged A Secret War Against Japan." The Washington Times described it as "an exciting story of bravery in the skies-- and a picture of America at its best at a time of peril. A five-star read." More of Sam's work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy and The Atlantic. He is now a lawyer, based in New York City. If you're one of the world's many World War II buffs, or you just want to read about the story that was left out of your history class textbooks, "The Flying Tigers" is for you!

To watch a great C-SPAN interview with Sam, click here! If you click here, you can read a very interesting National Review article about Kleiner and his book. Make sure you see Sam at the 2019 festival!

Hint for the next featured author: He's a journalist and author who was behind the scenes at the "Birth of a Movement."
