To mark its fifth year, the Tucson Festival of Books is launching two programs that recognize and develop great writing: the 2013 Tucson Festival of Books Literary Awards writing competition and Masters Workshop.
The Literary Awards is now accepting fiction, nonfiction and poetry for the 2013 competitions. First-place winners in each category will receive $1,000. Second-place winners receive $500, and third-place winners $250. All winners will be awarded scholarships to the 2013 Tucson Festival of Books Masters Workshop, March 11-12, 2013, in Tucson, Arizona.
The top 50 entrants will be invited to attend the Masters Workshop.
Several authors who are presenters at the March 9-10 Tucson Festival of Books will be among the judges for the writing competition. These authors will also comprise the faculty for the two-day Masters Workshop. Faculty members include Larry Watson, author of "Montana 1948," and Ann Hood, author of "The Red Thread."
