100+ volunteers still needed for the 2013 Festival!

Festival Staff / February 28, 2013

Become part of the Tucson Festival of Books by donating your time and talents today! The Tucson Festival of Books wouldn't be possible without the contributions of our dedicated community volunteers.

We still need to fill about 250 volunteer shifts for the 2013 Festival on March 9 and 10. There is a volunteer opportunity to fit everyone's needs and you're welcome to sign up for more than one shift!

Biggest areas of need include:

*Information Roamer - The "Google" of the festival on feet:) Our largest need is Saturday afternoon from 3-6 and two Sunday afternoon shifts (12:30-3:30 & 3-6).

*Author Events - Help manage the author presentation/panel/workshop venues. We've recently expanded numbers for this area so we need help during all shifts.

*Set-up - Saturday Morning

*Surprise Me - Able & willing to do ANY job at the festival (not just those listed here). A few spots still available throughout the weekend.

*Entertainment Support - Help at the various entertainment venues, as needed. A few spots still available throughout the weekend.

*Children's Author Events - Help manage the author presentation/panel/workshop venues in the children's area. A few spots still available throughout the weekend.

*Author Transportation - Transport authors to/from airport/hotel/campus. Could be scheduled at time between Friday, March 8 through Monday March 11, time to be coordinated with each volunteer.

As a rule of thumb, we have more openings on Sunday than Saturday and more in the afternoons than in the mornings.
