Emma Parker Photography

Jim Obergefell was the lead plaintiff in Obergefell v Hodges, the landmark marriage equality case in which the Supreme Court held that the right to marry is guaranteed to same-sex couples by the United States Constitution. He is the co-author, with Debbie Cenziper, of “Love Wins,” about the lovers, lawyers, judges and activists behind this groundbreaking case. Jim has held a variety of corporate jobs in training and technology, and is the first recipient of the Ohio Democratic Party’s Obergefell-Arthur Progressive Hero Award. Politico named him as one of the 50 top visionaries of 2015. He lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.
