Ausma Zehanat Khan holds a Ph.D. in International Human Rights Law and is a former adjunct law professor. She was Editor-in-Chief of Muslim Girl magazine, the first magazine targeted to young Muslim women. Her first novel, “The Unquiet Dead” won crime fiction's 2016 Barry Award for Best First Novel; it was also selected as one of the five best debut mysteries of the year by Oline Cogdill of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel and also as one of the ten best books of the year by Amanda Nelson of Bookriot. Her latest book, “Among the Ruins,” comes out in February, 2017. A British-born Canadian, Khan now lives in Denver, Colorado with her husband.
