James L Smith


James L. Smith is a former history teacher who has been recognized as the New Mexico Teacher of the Year and a finalist for the National Teachers Hall of Fame. His novel about Billy the Kid, "Catherine’s Son," was a nominee for the NM-AZ Book Awards for Best Historical Fiction, and his history textbook, "Ideas That Shape A Nation," has been endorsed by two Pulitzer Prize-winning historians and numerous history educators throughout the nation. Smith is also the author of "Skipper Hall" and "Flash Back: A Baby Boomer's Guide to Talking About Something Other Than Declining Health And How the World is Going to Hell."
