John Gallagher


John Gallagher is the creator of Max Meow and art director of the National Wildlife Federation's Ranger Rick magazine. He has been drawing comics since he was five. Gallagher learned to read through comics and went on to earn the distinction of reading every book in his elementary school library! Gallager is also the co-founder of Kids Love Comics, an organization devoted to using graphic novels to promote literacy, and leads workshops teaching kids how to create their own comics. Gallagher lives in Virginia with his wife and their three kids. His new books are "Max Meow Book 1: Cat Crusader" and "Max Meow Book 2: Donuts and Danger."

Max Meow, a secret superhero, and his best friend Mindy work hard to try and save the day in a new graphic novel series. Author John Gallagher will introduce his new series and teach kids how to create their own comics in a drawing workshop. Bring a pencil and paper!
