Caryl Crowell

Caryl Crowell is a retired educator with 41 years of experience in primary classrooms. She holds a Masters degree in Bilingual Education and an Education Specialist degree in Reading with a focus on language and literacy. Caryl worked successfully with readers at all levels through intentional teaching of reading strategies and one-on-one conferencing with readers using Over-the-Shoulder Miscue Analysis and Literature Study. She also taught Reading and Language Arts Methods to University of Arizona students in the Initial Teaching Preparation Program for three years.

Scheduled events:
Supporting Readers as Meaning-Makers: Getting Out of Their Way
Strategies and language to use as a teacher or parent, in supporting a reader at work, particularly readers who are reluctant, hesitant or vulnerable.
