Richard C. Sargent

"The Moon and Stars - A Tale of Dakota Rising" reflects the same philosophy R. Calhoun Sargent, lives by. "Find your passion; your base. Couple your passion with solid organizational methods and techniques. Add fine-tuned study skills and...'the sky is the limit'." Teaching at the middle school level for many years provided the author with the perfect canvas for his debut novel.

Sarge is a native Califonian. Born in 1949 and graduating from Cal Poly Pomona in 1972 led him into a teaching career. The interplay of being the teacher and the learner simultaneously became the impetus that drove his passion for writing in 2015. Currently, Sarge is working on a sequel to "The Moon and Stars - A Tale of Dakota Rising." He hopes to share many more new stories with his readers.

Sarge enjoys spending time with his adult children and grandson. Music, literature and the arts have always contributed to his desire to write. An active hiker and participant in the Sierra Club, Sarge also enjoys traveling and playing dominos and card games with friends.
