Holly George-Warren

Holly George-Warren is a two-time Grammy nominee and the award-winning author of 16 books on country and popular music, including the New York Times Best Seller, "The Road to Woodstock," with Michael Lang. Her most recent book, "Janis: Her Life and Music," is the first Joplin biography of its kind -- based on unprecedented access to her family, friends, forgotten archives and long lost interviews. It is a breathtaking and invigorating depiction of a woman who came to symbolize an entire era. Other books by George-Warren include "Public Cowboy No. 1, The Life and Times of Gene Autry." She has written for a variety of publications including the New York Times, the Village Voice and Entertainment Weekly. She teaches at the State University of New York in New Platz, NY.
