Mari Mancusi


Mari Mancusi is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than 30 sci-fi and fantasy books for children, teens, and adults. A former Emmy-winning TV news producer, her series have been featured on state reading lists, in Scholastic book fairs, and honored by the American Library Association’s “Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers.” She lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, daughter, and dog. Her newest book, “Dawn of the Dragons," is the sequel to "New Dragon City."

Magical Worlds of Mystery & Possibility
Three best-selling authors create worlds under threat, filled with mystery, magic and possibility. Shannon Messenger is well known for her Keeper of the Lost Cities series, now available as graphic novels, while Julie Kagawa and Mari Mancusi create worlds populated by humans and dragons.

Middle Grade Carousel: Inviting Connection
Meet a bunch of authors in 60 minutes as they share their new books filled with invitations to adventure. Each author will be seated at a table to talk with a small group about their newest book. Every eight minutes the authors will rotate to a new table in our version of author speed-dating.

Design a Dragon: Workshop for Kids
In this workshop for children, design your own dragon character and draw or write a story about your dragon to take home. Mari Mancusi shares how authors create characters for their stories and make decisions based on "this or that." She is the author of "Dawn of the Dragons" and "New Dragon City."
