Michael McGarrity is the author of sixteen bestselling novels. Tularosa, his 1996 debut novel, was a finalist for three awards, and began his popular Kevin Kerney crime series. In 2009, after 12 novels in the series, he paused to write a ground-breaking, historical prequel about the Kerney Family. His Amercian West Trilogy, consisting of "Hard Country," "Backlands," and "The Last Ranch," received wide-spread acclaim. With the recent publication of "Residue," he has returned to contemporary crime fiction featuring Kevin Kerney. McGarrity holds BA in psychology, a master's degree in clinical social work, and is a graduate of New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy. A former police officer and psychotherapist, his career in criminal justice spanned over twenty-five years. He lives in Santa Fe, NM.
