Jefferson Parker was born in Los Angeles and has lived all his life in Southern California. He was educated in public schools in Orange County, and earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, in 1976. He is the best-selling author of numerous novels, including "The Room of White Fire" and "The Famous & the Dead." Alongside Dick Francis and James Lee Burke, Parker is one of only three writers to be awarded the Edgar Award for Best Novel more than once. His newest book is, "The Room of White Fire."
