Beyond Middle-earth and Westeros


Many fantasy worlds have been based on analogs for medieval western Europe, but the genre is now exploding with novels inspired by other times and cultures. Liu, Lee and Arsenault-Rivera have created worlds that draw from Asian history, cultures and mythology. How does this enrich the genre?
