The Latest Traditions trio combines Appalachian Mountain dulcimers with guitar for a new take on traditional and popular favorites. Dulcimer, meaning sweet sound, and the early repertoire of this instrument was established by Scots, Irish and English settlers along the wagon roads and river routes of what once was the American frontier. More recently, Appalachian dulcimer music has claimed its place in the American melting pot of musical genres, and also features popular, blues, Cajun and even ragtime tunes, making it now more popular than ever. Mary and Skip Walker and Randy Smith are delighted to share their love of music with audiences of all ages. Join them for a toe-tapping good time!
