Michael Rubens

Mr. Rubens is appearing courtesy of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt

Michael Rubens is a producer and correspondent for Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and has three published novels, with another slated for publication in June of 2017.

His novel "Sons of the 613" was selected by Kirkus Reviews, YALSA and Tablet Magazine as one of the best books of the year and received a rare perfect 10 from VOYA. Stephen Colbert called his first novel - "The Sheriff of Yrnameer" - "A science fiction book your grandmother will love...if she’s a lustful, violent lady." His third novel, "The Bad Decisions Playlist," is out now, so you should buy it! His fourth novel, "Emily and the Spellstone," comes out June 2017.

His work has also appeared in The New Yorker’s Daily Shouts, HuffPost Comedy and Salon. In the past he has been a producer for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. For a very brief period he was also the world's least effective bouncer. It’s pronounced "YUR-nuh-meer."
