Keith McCafferty is the Survival and Outdoor Skills editor of Field & Stream and the author of the Sean Stranahan mystery series, including "The Royal Wulff Murders," "The Gray Ghost Murders," "Dead Man's Fancy," "Crazy Mountain Kiss," "Buffalo Jump Blues" and "Cold Hearted River."

Keith's awards include a 2017 Will Roger's Medallion Award for "Buffalo Jump Blues" and the 2016 Western Writer's of America Spur Award for "Crazy Mountain Kiss." Keith has received the Traver Award for Best Angling Literature and is a two-time National Magazine Awards finalist, a two-time High Plains Book Award finalist, and a finalist for the Nero Award for Best Mystery.

Keith lives with his wife, cat, and, as a wild bird rescue volunteer, various feathered friends, in southwest Montana.
