Lora L. Hyler Ms.

Lora Hyler's debut middle grade novel, "The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes," features multicultural superheroes who love advanced science and spy gadgets. The 7th graders of Windsor Middle School are thrilled to work on the new CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology. A blinking silver and black drone piloted by international goons is intent on stealing the technology for their home country. Mighty Marty soon has to decide whether to break a promise to his Granny not to use his superpowers until she says he is ready. She used her powers to aid Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the U.S. Civil Rights era. Marty and his friends battle it out with the goons at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. Who will win?
