Jim Turner earned his masters degree in U.S. History from the University of Arizona in 1999 at the age of fifty. He became a historian for the Arizona Historical Society in 2001, where he co-authored "The Arizona Story," a fourth grade Arizona history textbook. He retired in 2009 to write "Arizona: A Celebration of the Grand Canyon State." In June, 2015, Jim traveled from the top of the Rockies to the Sea of Cortez to write "The Mighty Colorado: From the Glaciers to the Gulf." He is currently writing a book about Crater Lake, Oregon.
