Jonathan Eig

Jonathan Eig is the New York Times best-selling author of four books: "Luckiest Man," Opening Day," Get Capone," and, most recently, "The Birth of the Pill." His biography of Muhammad Ali will be published in October 2017.

Ken Burns calls Jonathan Eig "a master storyteller." Before writing books, Jonathan worked as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, Chicago magazine, The Dallas Morning News, and the New Orleans Times-Picayune. He has also written for The New York Times, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post. He has appeared on NBC’s Today Show, NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and on numerous documentaries. He is currently working as consulting producer with Ken Burns on a Muhammad Ali documentary for PBS.

Jonathan lives in Chicago with his wife and children.
