Michael Perry is a playwright, humorist, and the New York Times best-selling author of numerous books including "Population 485: Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time," "Roughneck Grace," "The Jesus Cow," and his latest, "Montaigne in Barn Boots: An Amateur Ambles Through Philosophy." His live humor albums include The Clodhopper Monologues and Never Stand Behind a Sneezing Cow. He has also been involved in numerous musical projects with artists including Bon Iver, S. Carey, Justin Vernon, Aaron Dessner of The National, John Prine, and the Blind Boys of Alabama. Perry lives in rural Wisconsin, where he remains active as an emergency medical responder with the volunteer fire department. He can be found online at
