Alejandre Richards

Alejandre Richards is a cook inspired by her mother's gift for cooking. Her cookbook is "Cooking With Friends." Truth be told I've watched my mom make this a thousand times and not once have I ever seen her take a measurement. I have the best childhood memories. Especially Christmas time. Cooking, baking, spending time with family. Listening to soca, calypso and reggae. The entire street was practically family which made things quite interesting. The house was a hub and everyone would come visit. You could hear the kids in the street, the men under the street lights playing dominos and drinking Mt. Gay Rum. 4am Christmas Service, traditional hymns (carols) followed by more food than we knew what to do with. Definitely my favorite time of the year and some of the fonder memories of my mom. My mom would be so proud. I never ever had to cook when I was a kid. Truth be told, I only learnt how to when I went off to college and quickly found out being hungry was zero!
