Margaret Peterson Haddix grew up on a farm in Ohio and worked as a newspaper reporter and copy editor in Indiana before her first book, "Running Out of Time," was published. She has since written more than fifty books for kids and teens, including a number of series: Greystone Secrets, Shadow Children, Missing, and Children of Exile. Her standalone "The Moonleapers" came out last fall. Haddix and her husband, Doug, live in Columbus, Ohio, with their two children.
