Elizabeth McKenzie’s latest book is "The Dog of the North,a New York Times Editors’ Choice. Her previous novel, "The Portable Veblen," was longlisted for the National Book Award for fiction in 2016.

Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Tin House, Best American Nonrequired Reading and others. McKenzie is the managing editor of Catamaran and Senior Editor of Chicago Quarterly ReviewShe is currently completing a translation of Giacomo Sartori’s "Anatomy of the Battle" through a National Endowment of the Arts Translation Fellowship with partner Michela Martini.

Making her fourth visit to the festival, Elizabeth lives in Santa Cruz, Calif.
