Fran Wilson (she/her/hers)


Fran Wilson is a second grade teacher and language arts instructional leader for Madeira City Schools. She has served on several literature award committees, including the Orbis Pictus Award for nonfiction, the Charlotte Huck Award for fiction, the Notable Books for a Global Society Award for diverse literature, the Mathical Award for math trade books, and is currently reviewing books for the Notable Children’s Books in the Language Arts Award to identify engaging titles that appeal to K-8 readers. Fran has spent 30 years in the educational field and enjoys sharing her expertise on using literature with children in the classroom.


Scheduled events:
Notable Books for K-8 Readers
This session will highlight award-winning books of fiction, nonfiction and poetry for children in grades K-8. The books will be presented by the NCBLA committee who selected these books due to their appealing format, enduring quality, focus on language and invitation for child response. The committee will share the books and suggest instructional strategies. Books will be available for browsing and a book list provided. The books will be given away at the end of the session to attendees.
