Tina Nguyen

Rachel Hine

Harvard Club of Southern Arizona

In 2008, Tina Nguyen was a politics-obsessed college student unwittingly drawn into the world of conservative college activism. In 2015, when she went to Vanity Fair, the world of the far right chased after her as Donald Trump rose to power. She is the author of "The MAGA Diaries: My Surreal Adventures Inside the Right-Wing (And How I Got Out)." From her unique vantage point as a millennial woman of color into this mostly white and male dominated world, she gives readers an explosive, first-person account of the American right’s finely tuned and increasingly powerful recruiting machine.

Tina Nguyen is a national correspondent for Puck, covering the world of Donald Trump and the American right. Previously, Nguyen was a White House reporter for Politico, a staff reporter for Vanity Fair Hive and an editor at Mediaite. Nguyen graduated from Claremont McKenna College and lives in Washington.

As we head toward November's presidential election, we'll be consumed by what promises to be a brutal campaign. Will there be debates? Will the vitriol of the ads make us want to destroy our TVs? Will the barrage of coverage actually persuade potential voters to change their position? These Washington insiders give us their predictions, based on their in-depth reporting and research about candidates and voters.
