Ayana Gray is The New York Times best-selling author of "Beasts of Prey," "Beasts of Ruin" and "Beasts of War." To date, her works have been translated in 10 languages across five continents, they have received critical recognition at the state and national level and have been featured on Good Morning America, Tamron Hall, People Magazine and Oprah Daily, among others. She often writes stories that explore Blackness through a speculative lens, and in her spare time she can be found lecturing at writing workshops across the country. Originally from Atlanta, she now lives in Central Arkansas, where she continues to write stories filled with monsters, myths and magic.

Teen Worlds: A Carousel of YA Authors
Meet a bunch of YA authors in 60 minutes and enter teen worlds of fantasy, mystery and complicated relationships. Each author will be seated at a table to talk with a small group about their newest book. Every eight minutes the authors will rotate to a new table in our version of author speed-dating.

Horror is a major trend in YA and providing both pulse-pounding thrillers and a safe zone for fear and danger. These horror novels include a pan-African adventure of monsters and heroes, a murder mystery in which a Black teen is blamed for the murder of a popular White girl, and a dark portal encounter with the ghost of a friend left for dead.
