J.K. Gravier


J.K. Gravier is the pen name of James Hewitson. His first novel, "Blood Machines," won first place in the 2022 Writer’s Digest self-published e-book competition in the Mystery/Thriller category. He is currently finishing his second novel and is at work on a short story collection. His blog, Travel Only by Night, focuses loosely on the failure of film and literature to mediate reality.

He holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Toronto. A specialist in nineteenth-century American literature, he has published articles in a number of academic journals and collections on such topics as the apocalypse, the gothic, horror films and nineteenth-century cults.
