Roseanne A. Brown is an immigrant from the West African nation of Ghana and a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she completed the Jimenez-Porter Writers' House program. Her debut novel, "A Song of Wraiths and Ruin," was an instant New York Times best-seller, an Indie Bestseller and received six starred reviews. Her newest series, "Serwa Boateng's Guide to Vampire Hunting," came out Fall 2022 with Rick Riordan Presents. She has worked with Marvel, Star Wars and Disney, among other publishers. Rosie currently lives outside Washington, D.C., where she can usually be found explaining memes to her elderly relatives or thinking about Star Wars.

The combination of the danger and allure of vampires entices readers. Authors of three new vampire books talk about their most recent books and why vampires raise both feelings of horror and issues of justice. Shelby Mahurin, author of the Serpent and Dove series, shares her new dark fantasy, "Scarlet Veil," while Hafsah Faizal, author of the We Hunt the Flame duology, shares her new book in the Blood and Tea duology, and Roseanne Browne shares her Serwa Boateng series.

The popularity of global mythologies started with the Aru Shah fantasies by Roshani Chokshi, the first Rick Riordan Present series.
