Helen Pearson


Helen Pearson is an award-winning science journalist for Nature and honorary professor at University College London. She was named European Science Journalist of the Year 2025. She is a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at MIT from 2026-27.

Her first book, The Life Project, was named best science book of the year by The Observer, was a book of the year for The Economist and was longlisted for the Orwell Prize. Her second book, Beyond Belief: How Evidence Shows What Really Works, was published in April and named a Financial Times best summer book 2026.
