The author, illustrator, and publisher of two picture books about everyday life for Tohono O'odham children share their books and the story behind their efforts to publish these books as a way to preserve O'odham culture, history and language. In addition, they share future projects.

Husi Cazares, an enrolled member of the Tohono O’odham Nation, has devoted his life to teaching and preserving his people’s culture, history, and language. He has taught Tohono O’odham culture, as well as Native American history, at several colleges and universities....

Kerrie Ann Cázares, who speaks and writes Tohono O’odham, grew up in Orland Park, Illinois. Alongside her husband, she writes and illustrates books, language coloring books, and educational materials to support O’odham language learning....

Linda Laird is President/Coordinator of Books for Classrooms which she helped found in 2019. This volunteer group has provided over 70,000 multicultural and STEAM books to schools in Pima County, Arizona....
