Science City is home to STEM literacy at the festival offering five themed “neighborhoods”, U of A facility tours and open houses, as well as the Science Café for informal talks and presentations. We welcome student clubs, academic programs, non-profits, museums, researchers, industries, and arts organizations to advance STEM literacy through accessible, hands-on educational activities. Participation is free for accepted organizations.
Submit a participant application and select a themed neighborhood.
Describe the educational activities and tools/equipment/items at your station
Commit to full participation from 9:30am to 5:30pm on both Saturday and Sunday
Staff your station with volunteers or employees
Provide your social media and website details for TFOB promotion
Attend the Science City Participant orientation in February
Engage with thousands of festival goers and share the wonders of STEM innovation
Submit an application to offer an Open House or Tour of your on-campus facility
Indicate the days and times, the street address and location of the entrance
Provide a brief description of the tour or open house experience as it relates to STEM literacy
The Science Café offers a small stage for informal talks and exhibitions of 60-90 minutes.
Email sciencecity@tucsonfestivalofbooks.org to propose a Cafe presentation
Describe your 60 to 90 minute talk, activity, panel discussion, exhibition, or other presentation for a general audience
Include a description of any audio/visual requests or tent setup requests for the Cafe (i.e. a table to display artifacts, etc.)
