Rita Goldner

Rita Goldner is a full-time author and illustrator of children's picture books. She experiments with a variety of media while designing a character, and for the final version, paints digitally. Rita is currently a published member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She teaches the elements of picture book writing to children at school visits, and does presentations to adult groups, too.

AUTHOR’S STATEMENT

“I am excited about children’s picture books, and as a former elementary school teacher, I’m trying to help young readers find a fun way to learn.”

BOOKS

"Orangutan: A Day in the Rainforest Canopy" is a colorful romp through the rainforest of Borneo from dawn to dusk. The story follows a young orangutan as he searches for food, encounters predators and learns life skills from his mother.

"Making Marks on the World" is a story book for left or right-handed coloring. The protagonist, Jackson, learns in a different way, by using painting and drawing to explore new things. He does a school history report by time-traveling from prehistoric cave people days to joining the astronauts on the NANA moon landing, painting/drawing his observations along the way.

"Agent H2O Rides the Water Cycle" is a work-in-progress story about a secret agent on a mission. He’s a drop of water, evaporating up, condensing and raining down, freezing and thawing, hydrating plants/animals and being chased by the evil villain, pollution. It’s scientifically accurate, but whimsical and fun. This book will be published in late November 2017.
