Jane Bean-Folkes


Jane Bean-Folkes is an assistant professor of literacy, in the Education Department at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, NY. She is an avid reader of children’s books especially books on diverse and global literature. Her research interests involve multilingual classrooms, written academic language, African American Language, diverse & global literature, sociocultural and sociolinguistic perspectives of education for non-dominant language speakers as they learn the academic language in urban settings.
