Jane Bean-Folkes is a teacher/practitioner who lives in schools. She believes it is important to work in schools collaboratively with students and teachers to empower them to become lifelong learners. She would like educators to rethink what is developmentally appropriate and to incorporate multilingual/non-dominant language learning into the curriculum. She believes that how we value the language diversity students bring to school is important. At the university level, she prepares teachers to enter the current workforce and to become literacy leaders.
