Victor Shamas, Ph.D. is a University of Arizona psychologist. In 1987, Dr. Shamas experienced a revelation—a momentary glimpse into the heart of the creative process—that changed the course of his life and led him on a 30-year quest to understand human creativity. This journey culminated in the writing and publication of this new book which offers a radically new view of both the creative process and the human condition. Dr. Shamas’ research focuses on the experience of being fully alive (EBFA) and the sensations that give rise to it, including passion, intuition, receptivity, playfulness and self-transcendence. His study of intuition in pregnant mothers has been featured in USA Today, Pregnancy magazine and NBC’s Today Show. For more than two decades, Dr. Shamas has brought together and mentored free spirits who, like him, recognize the importance of the EBFA as both a source of motivation and a guiding force in their lives.
Shamas is the co-founder of two Tucson-based non-profit groups and the author of four books, including his most recent, "Deep Creativity: Inside the Creative Mystery."
