Tanisha Ray

Tanisha J. Ray is the author and co-illustrator of the middle grade fantasy series, The Forsaken Seven, and the young adult fantasy series, The Gerunk Saga. She loves animals, magical stories about flying carpets, enthusiastic high fives, werewolves and Japanese food. Among other interpretations, her name – Tanisha – in Hausa (a Central African language) means “Born on a Monday.” She was born on a Saturday. She has an irrational pet peeve – chairs that aren’t pushed in. If chased by zombies, she would stop to push in every chair all the while yelling at everyone else to hurry up. She says “awesome” way too much; and she is unofficially competing for the title of The Worst Cook in the History of the World. Preparing burnt food is an underappreciated art form. It's actually pretty awesome.
