Marie Ballard

Marie Ballard is a former teacher and children's librarian. She was a long time resident of Colorado when the events described in "The Little Lost Llama" occurred. Her immediate reaction was: This would make a terrific children's book. Ten years later this dream has became a reality. Marie lives in Beaverton, Oregon.

Tracy duCharme, the illustrator, is also the rancher who rescued the llama from Pikes Peak. Marie located Tracy through social media when she began researching the story. Tracy, a talented artist who formerly worked for Disney and Hasbro, immediately signed on to the project. Tracy lives in Elizabeth, CO with her llamas, dogs, honey bees, and husband, Mike.

"The Little Lost Llama" is their first book.
