David Kurud

David Kurud was born and raised in the West Central Minnesota city of Morris. David graduated from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus, and went on to a career in advertising, retiring from the Minneapolis, Minnesota, Star Tribune newspaper. He now resides in Green Valley, Arizona.

"Needles, the First Christmas Tree" was one of those preverbal labors of love taking over forty years to complete. The beginning of the story came to David while he was in the Winona, MN library. He quickly wrote down the first four rhyming couplets that came to him so effortlessly. Those four were followed by laboriously writing hundreds of additional couplets. After eliminating and rewriting many of those original couplets a final 257 were whittled down to the 229 remaining couplets that work so well to tell the story of Needles.

Needles is David's first story to be published although he has written several others. He is now working on "The True Tale of Noah and His Ark" which he hopes to publish in the near future.
