Jennifer Summerlin is an Assistant Professor of Reading at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the current director of the Graduate Reading Specialist Program. Jennifer is passionate about putting great books into the hands of readers. She intentionally strives to know the newest books for children and adolescent readers. Jennifer has spent the last 21 years reading, reviewing, and recommending quality children’s literature to her colleagues, students, preservice teacher candidates, and families interested in helping their child build a love of literature and reading.
