Celeste Trimble

Celeste Trimble has been working as an educator in K-12 and higher education since 2006. She works toward increasing cultural diversity within literature for youth inside and outside the classroom. She is currently an assistant professor of literacy at St. Martin’s University in Olympia, Washington.

The expectations of adults and peers can create boxes that confine teens. Four YA authors share the ways in which teens in their books challenge and go beyond societal expectations of gender, race, sexuality and social class to become their own selves.
