Michelle Reidel is an Associate Professor of Social Studies Education at Georgia Southern University. She loves to read and introduce future teachers to the powerful world of children’s book and young adult literature

Scheduled events:
Challenging Stereotypes and Misconceptions through Books
Children's and young adult books can be used to challenge common misconceptions about the world and to question misunderstandings about the natural world and scientific principles. Both instructional strategies and titles of books will be shared as resources to facilitate dialogue about complex topics such as stereotypes, bias, diversity and social justice.
