What's Funny? Humor in All Shapes and Sizes

Three authors will talk about the many forms that humor can take across different types of books, including picture books, young adult novels and historical biographies. Adam Rex's "Nothing Rhymes with Orange," Gloria Chao's "American Panda" and Steve Sheinkin's new Time Twisters history series all use humor in unique ways to engage readers.

Gloria Chao

Gloria Chao is an MIT graduate, turned dentist, turned writer. She currently lives in Chicago with her ever-supportive husband for whom she became a nine-hole golfer (sometimes seven). She is always up for cooperative board games, Dance Dance Revolution, or soup dumplings....

Adam Rex

Adam Rex is the Arizona-raised author/illustrator of the New York Times best-selling "Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich,” “ the author of the NYT bestselling "School's First Day of School," the illustrator of the NYT bestselling "The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors," and also the author and/or illustrator of several books about which the Times has been strangely coy....

Steve Sheinkin
