We Still "Heart" Pluto

Despite its demotion, Pluto -- at the outer edge of our solar system -- remains an object of great interest. William Sheehan and Alan Stern, two experts with strong ties to Arizona, will discuss this most intriguing "planetary body."

William Sheehan

William Sheehan is a retired psychiatrist, who moved to Flagstaff from Minnesota in 2016. He is also an amateur astronomer, astronomical historian and writer, whose many books are mainly concerned with the bodies of the Solar System, including the Moon....

Alan Stern

Dr. Alan Stern is principal investigator of the New Horizons mission, leading NASA’s exploration of the Pluto system and the Kuiper Belt. A planetary scientist, space-program executive, aerospace consultant and author, he has participated in over two dozen scientific space missions and has been involved at the highest levels in several aspects of American space exploration....
